“We are truly humbled to be chosen as volunteers of the month after only volunteering a few times at Halo House. We first learned about Halo House from Dr. Fowler during our first trip to Houston. Being from Illinois and having had to stay in Houston for two long extended stays in the last 3 years, we know how important it is to have a comfortable place to stay. We were fortunate to be able to afford a nice apartment but many are not and that is what is so wonderfully amazing about Halo House. Our volunteer journey with Halo House started after a coincidental meeting with Kathleen when Stephanie and I walked from where we were staying to check out the progress of the new facility. As a cancer survivor of Lymphoma and Multiple Myeloma, it feels really good to be able to give back something to families that are in need of a place to call home while going through the struggles of cancer treatments! We plan to volunteer anytime we come back to Houston for checkups.” Todd and Stephanie Shively
